Our heart is to share the love of Christ in the gospel to anyone whom God brings to us (Matt 9:36-38; Col 4:3-6).
This takes place primarily in the closest spheres of relationships God has providentially placed us. This also takes place in one-time or short-term opportunities .
Here are our principles on outreach and evangelism. . .
Love — Evangelism must be fueled by love for Christ and people (Matt 22:37-40). We are enabled to love as we receive Christ’s love for us (2 Cor 5:14-15). Without love, evangelism becomes a personal project or a self-driven work. But with love, people will see that we are disciples of Christ (John 13:35). And God may use our good deeds to bring people to Christ (1 Pet 2:12).
Prayer — Evangelism without prayer is loveless. Since Jesus loved the lost, He called His disciples to pray for workers to do gospel-work (Matt 9:37-38). Also, prayerless evangelism makes us rely on ourselves when we share the gospel. Even the apostle Paul asked people to pray for gospel opportunity and boldness (Col 4:3; Eph 6:20).
Good Conduct — Love for God drives us to live with integrity. This distinguishes us from the world and builds credibility for the gospel (Col 4:5-6; Titus 3:5-10; 1 Pet 2:12; 3:15-16). At the same time, we know that good conduct is no substitute for verbally sharing the gospel.
Church-Centered — We love the church that God bought with Christ’s blood (Acts 20:28). So, we want people to be a part of the local church. This is where people are discipled to grow in the grace of Christ (Matt 28:19-20; 2 Pet 3:18).
During our services, people will always hear the gospel and have the opportunity to repent of their sins and trust in Christ (1 Cor 14:24-25).
